Log Retrieval

When T2 has an error, follow the steps on this page to retrieve logs and send them to technical support. Logs help pinpoint when the problem occurred, the running state, and related error information.

Privacy and Use

Without violating applicable laws and regulations and without involving personal privacy information, Booster only collects data related to robot operation, which is used for fault detection, problem diagnosis, and statistical analysis.

Upload Logs Through the App

  1. After you connect to the robot through the App, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Log upload.
  3. Select the time range to upload, making sure it covers when the problem occurred.
  4. The upload takes about 5-10 minutes. During this time, keep the robot powered on and connected to the network. Logs from both the App and the robot are uploaded together.
  5. After the upload finishes, contact customer service to report the problem. The technical team will retrieve your uploaded log files through the admin console.

Retrieve Logs Through the Terminal

Before you start, record the time the problem occurred, the symptoms, and the operation you were running at the time. The robot uses UTC+8 by default; if you are not in the UTC+8 zone, convert the time before you enter the log time range.

  1. Log in to the robot through the terminal.
  2. Confirm when the problem occurred and prepare the log start and end times. The time format is YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.

  3. Run the log export command. Common parameters are as follows:

    # -st, --start-time: log start time, format YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS
    # -et, --end-time: log end time, format YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS; defaults to 30000101-000000 when not set
    # -o, --output: output path for the log archive
    booster-cli log -st YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS -et YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS -o OUTPUT_PATH
  4. Choose a range that covers the time before and after the problem occurred. For example, if the problem occurred around 20200808-120810, you can export logs for about 10 seconds before and after:

    booster-cli log -st 20200808-120800 -et 20200808-120820 -o /home/booster/Documents/20200808-120800.zip
  5. Copy the log file to your local machine on the developer host.

    scp booster@192.168.10.102:/home/booster/Documents/20200808-120800.zip ~/Downloads
  6. Send the log archive to technical support, along with the symptoms, when it occurred, and the steps to reproduce it.

  7. If overseas users cannot send the log file through a chat tool, they can use WeTransfer to send the log file
