Version Upgrade

Before Upgrading

💡

When installing a new version of software, the robot's motion control program will be stopped and the joints will not exert force. Before upgrading, give the robot good support — for example, lay it flat on the ground and put it into damping mode or stop motion control. Do not cut off power or interrupt the process during the upgrade.

  • Confirm that the installation package matches the current T1 model and target version.
  • Confirm that the robot's battery, network, and terminal connection are stable.
  • If you have modified any configuration files, back up important configurations and logs first.

Upgrade via App

In the robot settings, tap "Firmware Update".

  • Before installing the firmware, make sure the robot has entered damping or ready mode, and the battery level is above 50%.

Software Upgrade

❗
  • When installing a new version of software, the robot's motion control program will be stopped and the joints will not exert force. Before upgrading, make sure the robot is in damping mode or motion control is stopped, and that it has good support (e.g., using a stand).
  • Make sure the robot is connected to the internet before upgrading.
  • Make sure the robot has sufficient battery before upgrading.

v1.8.1.2

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the T1/T2 tended to tip over when switching Agents frequently and consecutively, improving stability of the standing posture.
  • Optimized head joint limit parameters for the T1 model to enable a wider range of head rotation.

Upgrade Software for Basic version

First, set the file execution permission (Note: replace the following filenames with the actual filenames):

sudo chmod +x <package-filename>.run

Copy the software upgrade package to the basic board (for example, to /home/booster/Downloads) using scp:

scp <package-filename>.run booster@192.168.10.102:/home/booster/Downloads

Execute the installation with root privileges:

sudo ./<package-filename>.run

Upgrade Software for Standard version

Upgrade Motion Control Board Software

Upgrade Software for Standard version

  • Run this command on the motion control board or the perception board:
booster-cli upgrade
  • The appearance of the following printed content indicates that the system update has been completed:

Notes for Upgrade

❗
  • The perception process depends on some Python libraries installed via pip. If downloads are slow, you can change the pip source and run the upgrade again with the following commands:
### Switch to the root user
sudo su

# Use the USTC mirror
pip config set global.index-url https://pypi.mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/simple

# Try the upgrade again
./v1.1.1.0-release-aarch64.run
❗
  • If you encounter a log indicating that apt update failed as shown below, use the fishros tool to change the software source and then try upgrading again.
